Entry for October 28, 2006
Well, we've been delayed one more day due to weather. It's extremely windy and rainy here in St. Pete, but the weather gets worst further south toward Key West (our heading). Tom figures since Jeremy and I have pretty much no idea what we're doing yet, it would be more wise  if we wait another day- and I'm pretty sure the Captain has a good point :) If you would like to see a picture of me and the WorldWind a few sunny days ago, click Here. Lord willing, this will be my last post until we reach Cuba. Today will be well spent- fixing leaks we apparently get when it rains!

Evan,

Well, at around 11:15 today, you sailed away! I could see the excitement in your eyes and I knew how ready you were to get going. As we stood on that bridge and watched you, I could understand why you would want to do this. Freedom is about to take on a whole new meaning! To be out on the sea and have no time restraints, nowhere to be at no certain time...to look out on the beautiful water and realize just how great and how huge this world is...I almost envy you :) A strange calm came over me as I heard God speak to me, "He will come back...and he will be a seasoned sailor!"

I thought I would fall apart today, but really, I have already done that. What I feel is peace. You are doing what you want, living the dream. As you sailed under the bridge and out of view, I understood, maybe for the first time, that you are truly in God's hands now
(not that you weren't always) and that's the best place for you to be.

I LOVE YOU...and I'm happy for you. Be safe, learn everything you can...and come back and sail us to the islands!! One day, maybe we will be on "Island Time", the sailboat :)

Can't wait for your first blog at sea!!!
Love always,
Mom
